Introduction

CityTrade is an online brokerage firm that offers a platform for trading in various financial instruments. They claim to provide a user-friendly interface, competitive trading conditions, and a wide range of services to aid in trading. However, before deciding to trade with CityTrade, it is crucial to evaluate the firm’s credibility, services, and customer feedback.

Regulation and Safety

A crucial factor to consider when choosing a broker is its regulatory status. Regulated brokers are obliged to follow strict rules and guidelines, which are designed to protect traders. Unfortunately, CityTrade does not appear to be regulated by any recognized financial authority. The lack of regulation raises serious questions about the safety of funds deposited with CityTrade and the integrity of their trading practices.

Trading Platform and Tools

CityTrade offers a web-based trading platform, which means that traders can access their accounts from any device with an internet connection. The platform features real-time charts, technical analysis tools, and a variety of other features designed to aid in trading. However, the platform lacks the advanced features and functionality offered by more established trading platforms such as MetaTrader 4 or 5.

Customer Service

Customer service is another critical aspect to consider when choosing a broker. Traders need to know that they can get assistance when they need it. CityTrade offers customer support via email and live chat. However, the lack of a phone support option may be a disadvantage for some traders. Additionally, some users have reported slow response times and inadequate support from the customer service team.

Account Types and Trading Conditions

CityTrade offers three types of trading accounts: Basic, Silver, and Gold. The minimum deposit for the Basic account is relatively high compared to other brokers. Additionally, the spreads offered by CityTrade are not as competitive as those offered by other brokers. The firm also charges commission on trades, which can eat into profits.

Education and Training

CityTrade provides a range of educational resources, including webinars, e-books, and tutorial videos. These resources can be useful for beginner traders looking to learn more about trading. However, the quality and depth of these resources are not on par with those offered by more reputable brokers.

Conclusion

While CityTrade offers a range of services and features, there are significant concerns about the firm’s lack of regulation and the quality of its customer service. Furthermore, the trading conditions are not as competitive as those offered by other brokers. Therefore, traders should exercise caution when considering CityTrade as a broker and explore other regulated and more reputable options on the market.

  1. CityTrade is a complete disaster of a broker. Their customer service is non-existent, their fees are outrageous, and their platform is clunky and unreliable. I had nothing but issues trying to execute trades and their lack of communication and transparency left me feeling frustrated and helpless. Stay far away from CityTrade if you value your time and money.
